Initially rumored to be released in September this year, Apple’s flagship iPhone 12 series will shake up the smartphone world yet again. The California-based tech giant is likely to push the release of iPhone 12 to October/November or even later due to the dreaded pandemic COVID – 19.
Packed with a powerful processor and latest operating system iOS 14, the iPhone 12 series is set to become a fan-favorite once launched.

Price: The multinational firm is also likely to price it at US$649, lesser than the entry-level price of the current iPhone 11.
Models: The iPhone 12 is rumored to have four models in its line-up; a base model iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and finally the flagship iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Display and storage: The smartphone manufacturer is rumored to have equipped its base iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Super Retina display from China-based BOE Display, which means the display will be super. It sports a 4GB RAM, storage of 128GB or 256GB, dual rear cameras, and an aluminum body. The iPhone 12 Max comes with a slightly larger display at 6.1-inch BOE OLED Super Retina, 4GB RAM, a choice of either a 128GB or 256 GB storage, dual rear cameras, and a body made out of aluminum. It seems Apple will be offering all iPhone 12 models with 128GB storage as standard.
Features: Not leaving out the latest technical innovations, the iPhone 12 Pro is equipped with a 6.1 inch Samsung OLED Super Retina XDR (Extreme Dynamic Range), which simply means it is better than HDR, with ProMotion and 10-bit Color Depth display. iPhone 12 vs. iPhone 11
So how does the iPhone 12 fare against its sibling – the iPhone 11 and its variants?
Apple loaded all the iPhone 11 models with A13 Bionic chipset to perform various functions, making it fast at the time of its launch. Not lagging behind, the iPhone 12 is rumored to be loaded with A14 Bionic chipset equipped with a Hexa core processor and eight-core graphics Apple GPU.

5G: The latest iPhone supports 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G as well as GPRS and EDGE connectivity, whereas iPhone 11 supports all except 5G. The upgrade to 5G connectivity on iPhone 12 comes at a crucial time as other smartphone manufacturers have already begun offering phones with 5G connectivity.

Storage: The California based tech giant has bumped up the storage to 128GB, which means the storage is standard across all iPhone 12 models. Apple offers a minimum storage standard of 64GB on its current iPhone 11 models.
New features: Apple is also likely to make another major change with its iPhone 12. The smartphone manufacturer may replace its Lightning Port with USB-C. However, it remains to be seen if the American tech giant gives in to the proposal issued by the EU for mobile phone manufacturers to standardize USB-C port. Another major change could be the absence of a notch in the latest iPhone 12. The front camera can likely be embedded in the screen.
The smartphone manufacturer is also rumored to debut Navy Blue color on top-end iPhone 12 models. The other colors; Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Midnight Green are likely to be available in iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. With iPhone 11 available in Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, Red, and White; these colors may be added on the iPhone 12 models. However, there are no confirmations at the moment.

Apple certainly has a winner in the upcoming iPhone 12. With a new operating system, an innovative camera, standard storage of 128GB across all models, and pricing to fit all is definitely worth the wait.
